From the Pastor

My name is Leland Johnson and I am the pastor of Berean Baptist Church.  I want to welcome you to our church’s website as well as invite you to come visit with us in the near future.  We may not be the type of church you are used to, and we hope that is a refreshing change.  We seek to honor the Lord Jesus Christ and encourage each other in Him.  Every visitor will feel welcome and warmly received when he walks in our doors, and we hope you will love our church as much as we do.  I have been the pastor of Berean for a few years now and have already seen God do amazing things in our midst.  Our goal is to reach Shelby, NC with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as see Christians on fire for Him, doing exactly what God has made them to do.  We each have different gifts and here at Berean our desire is to see each believer find out what those gifts are so that they can use those gifts to their fullest potential and give God all of the glory.
