Dear Friends,
We would like to attract the attention of all our supporters to this opportunity God has led us to. We have been introduced to a wonderful Bible believing church here in Israel. Emile has joined the outreach of this church to the people from Darfur (Sudan) and Eritrea who have come to Israel for refuge and a chance for work. There is an average of 100 men crossing the borders from Egypt to Israel every day. They mostly show up in Tel Aviv at a local park. The estimated number for the year was about 15,000. After entering the border they get checked by the Israeli authorities where they will be kept at some camp then let go. At the local park in Tel Aviv where they go, we meet about 50-100 of them each time. There are about 50 of them sleeping out on the ground using cardboard from boxes collected from the adjacent trash bin. It is cold here at this time. The church ministry meets with them on Tuesdays and Fridays. On Tuesday, we fed them healthy soup cooked at the park. A blanket can be bought for $5.00 each and a coat for $10.00.
Emile has gone two times and spent several hours there. They are also being given Bibles and literature. As most of them come from Darfur, Sudan, they speak a dialect of Arabic which Emile can understand. So, he explains to them about our purpose of being there to help and to present to them about the God-Man who came to earth to provide for them salvation through His death and shedding of His blood for our sins. We are not there to convert them to another religion, but to show them the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
This ministry requires many to help with good resources. Our group being small, it is limited to how much we can help. We trust that you will pray for us to try to reach those men before they go to other places.
If there are any donations, please send them to our Mission Board for accountability and designate them for “homeless people in Tel Aviv”.
May the Lord’s blessings be upon this blessed Christmas
