MARK ANTHONY PRITCHETT

 

Pastor Mark A. Pritchett was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is a 1983 graduate of James B. Dudley High School. Mark served in the US Army from November 1983 through November 1987 as an Air Traffic Controller. He distinguished himself graduating second in his class in Air Traffic Control School in Fort Rucker, Alabama, and by obtaining two ratings and rank of E-5 before completing his four years of military service. Mark left the military in November 1987. He then moved to Greenville, South Carolina where he enrolled in Bob Jones University for ministry preparation.

After three semesters at Bob Jones University, God moved Mark to Shelby, North Carolina in August 1990. Mark accepted a position on staff at Ambassador Baptist College as a men’s dorm supervisor. Mark completed his bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies in May 1993. Mark also received a promotion as the assistant Dean of Men and as the assistant to the Dean of Students until May 1997.

 

Mark Pritchett has served as pastor of Berean Baptist Church from June 1993 till present. Pastor Mark has been very active in this community serving in the following capacities: CPR/FIRST AIR Instructor for the American Red Cross, EMT with Shelby Rescue Squad for four years, Substitute Teacher for several schools, Bus Driver for Shelby City Schools, High-Risk and At-risk Intervention worker for a private company as well as Pathways in Cleveland and Gaston County Schools, Student Services Management Team worker for Shelby High School from 2001-2003, Head Coach for JV Boys’ Basketball Team and for Girls’ Volleyball Team at Shelby High School for 2002-2003, Assistant Coach for Shelby High Varsity Boys since 2001. He is currently the director of C-STOP (Community Short Term Opportunity Program) which serves the population of students who have been suspended from school from 3-10 days as well as administrator for the Phoenix Program which is a program for students who have been suspended for 365 days.


Pastor Mark A. Pritchett

 Pastor Mark Pritchett is a Missionary Church Planter with a vision to plant Independent, Fundamental, and Baptist Churches in the Black Community. He is instrumental in training and preparing our members to serve. At present, we have one man doing a pastoral internship with pastor to start a church in the Durham area in a few years, and one man who will be starting a church in Nebraska in June 2005.

Pastor Mark Pritchett has been married to Cynthia Martin since 1991, and they have one son, Justin, who is eight years old.
