Vernal Theopilus Rolle, Jr.
|
The union of Martha and Vernal Rolle, Sr. was
blessed by one son on June 28, 1960. They named him Vernal Theophilus
Rolle, Jr.
As a child, Vernal was she, well-mannered and spent
most of his time indoors. Having been raised as a Catholic, he received
some of his eearly education in the Catholic school system and served for many
years as an Altar Boy.
Upon completion of his high school
education, Vernal enrolled at the College of the Bahamas as a
mechanical engineer major. However, he left after a year
to pursue a career with the Royal Bahamas Defense Force. Due
to ill health, Vernal was unable to fulfill his dream.
The Lord had other plans for him. On June 27,
1985, Vernal came to know Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. This
decision led to a commitment to full-time Christian service. Vernal became
a member of New Testament Baptist Church and involved himself in various
ministries. |

On October 14th, 1989, he married Tessanee Pinder,
and a year and a half later, they set out for Ambassador Baptist College to
prepare educationally for the ministries that God had called them to.
At Ambassador Baptist College in Shelby, NC, the
education proved to be more than academic. The Lord taught Vernal how to
totally trust him and that, with the Lord, everything is possible.
For a while the Rolle family attended New Life
Baptist Church in Concord, NC ,
but because of distance, they had to worship closer to home. They were led
to the loving family of Landmark Baptist Church of Shelby. Their time
there will never be forgotten.
After two years, Vernal felt that the Lord was
leading him to help Pastor Mark Pritchett with the establishment of Berean
Baptist Church of Shelby. Wile at the Berean, Vernal was assistant to the
Pastor, Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and assisted in all areas of the
ministry.
Due to poor health, Vernal was only able to complete
three years of college work. |
